Paul Wittle

Paul is a geospatial web developer for Dorset Council. He studied Environmental Science at undergraduate level and found a love for all things geospatial whilst working a placement at Kew gardens. In later posts he worked within the transport industry before moving to the south coast. Paul has been involved with organising local FOSS4G events and code sprints with the local OSGeo chapter for the past few years and has experience running events including pyrotechnic shows.

Illya Sparkes-Santos is a lead geospatial engineer at Strava. A long term contributor to FOSS4G projects, based in Bristol for the past 16 years, he has fostered the local community and organized informal geo-based meetups for over a decade. Recently Illya has expanded his community involvement by serving on the LOC for OSGeo events in Bristol.

Json has worked as a developer in Open Source GIS domain in multiple startups for the past 6 years and built many applications from scratch to production, managed teams, hired people and wore many other hats. Volunteering at OSGeo, I have helped at multiple FOSS4Gs and have been on the organizing team for FOSS4G:UK 2025 and FOSS4G-ASIA 2026. In the same community spirit, I am starting a London “Geo” Meetup bringing in more collaboration.

Jeremy is an Honorary Professor at University College London. For 10 years till 2025 he was Chief Geospatial Scientist at Ordnance Survey, and before that an academic at UCL and the University of Nottingham. In the latter post he co-chaired FOSS4G in Nottingham in September 2013, focused on local venue liaison as well as chairing the AGI Conference in the same Maptember week. He has many years experience in open data (OSM), standards (OGC) and software (OSGeo).
